Trauma is complex and multifaceted. Anyone who has had any significant trauma (Big T or little t) has been changed neurologically - they have had to adapt their responses to keep themselves safe. They have a unique trauma fingerprint which requires an individualized approach to healing.
"In this presentation I will share a range of evidence based tools, which offer a pragmatic, real, grounded approach to trauma recovery.
I do not advocate a magic bullet, or a quick fix. Nor do I promote the idea of acting as if the trauma has never happened - that to me is just not realistic for true recovery. I teach people how to change their relationship to and with the trauma, so that they can learn a new way to live with the reality, so it changes their perspective of it - it stops being front and centre and stops being their main focus.
We will explore how to be aware of the impact trauma is having (it is not always obvious).
We will look at some ways to name and bound the trauma.
Then we will explore how to unhook from the trauma
And, maybe for the first time in along while, reconnect with the body.
I will teach some practical tools you can use immediately, for yourself, and for your clients, and, we will set some clear scope of practice for when a higher level of therapeutic support may be required.
What sets this apart is the integrated nature of the tools, combining years of study, across a range of modalities, giving clients choice of approach to suit them, for where they are at.
Come and join me for a practical, pragmatic journey into yourself, to find hope and opportunity for a different way forward."
